South Asian Cinema
Date: 2001
Brief: copywriting
Job description: I was invited by the editor of this new journal, published by the South Asian Cinema Foundation, to write a piece about its London launch. It was important to emphasise the cultural importance, timeliness and scope of such a journal, intended as a serious publication to broaden perceptions of South Asian cinema beyond its Bollywood image. I have since contributed two more pieces to the journal, in issues focused on films about the partition of India and the influence of leftist thought.
