About me

I graduated in English from Oxford University and have an MA in Comparative Literature (Asia/Africa) from SOAS University of London. My professional background includes publishing, teaching at MA level, parliamentary research, freelance writing and working in public affairs in the charity sector.

I enjoy writing creatively and am a co-editor of Edgewords, an anthology that raises funds for The Edge CafĂ© in Cambridge, supporting people in recovery from addiction. I was also delighted to get a special mention as part of the top 9% in Spread the Word’s 2021 Life Writing Prize.

Should you wish to pause awhile, here are three recent short pieces I have written:

Tick the box (a poem and personal footnote about the Partition of India)

Perfect imperfection (some thoughts on perfectionism)

Ripe (a spoken word piece about women and fruit)
